than 50,000 words when it's finished, but as long as I get that far by the end of the month, I still get my nifty completion certificate, and a link to Literacity on the NaNoWriMo front page! And of course, when it's all finished, I'll be sending around free PDF copies of the book (or at least excerpts, and if I do that it'll be mainly for copyright reasons; I'll still try to keep the actual book's cost extremely cheap).

I started out trying to write like Clive Barker, but I'm finding I sound more and more like a violent, misanthropic version of the early C. S. Lewis trying to imitate Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. God knows where that's coming from.
The work continues to evolve and grow, and I continue trying to keep it in check. Hopefully the balance I strike will produce an enjoyable sprawling adventure. See you all at the finish line!
